The opportunity
each one a decade-long customer relationship for the school, and for MTN

schools running admissions, fees, marks and staff on paper ledgers
internet users, with WhatsApp the most used app in the country
a learner stays enrolled, and the school bills the family every term of it
Learner count grounded in World Bank and UNESCO enrolment data: 5.3M primary pupils in 2024, plus secondary. School count is directional, to be confirmed in MINEDUB and MINESEC yearbooks.

How the office runs today

One number per school
Families only ever see a chat. Behind it sit eight complete systems sharing one database, one console and one MoMo rail. Buy them alone or run the whole operating system.

How a school goes live
Our team imports the registers: learners, parents, classes, fee structures, staff files and opening balances.
Registrar, bursar, director of studies and teachers certified on their own phones. The console replaces the ledger shelf.
A QR at the gate links every parent to their children. No app to download, nothing to learn.
Fees, registers, marks, payroll and safeguarding flow. Support lives in the same chat as the school.

Per school, per month

What schools compare us to

What this is worth to MTN
Illustrative economics for sizing. 2,500 schools is roughly one in ten nationwide; fee levels vary widely by school type.

How the money splits
Indicative split, to be fixed in the pilot agreement.

Who pays, in what order
Douala and Yaoundé first: 300 to 1,500 learners, real fees, paid admin staff, and arrears they can name. The OS replaces money they already spend.
Catholic, Protestant and Islamic networks and multi campus proprietors. One head office decision signs ten schools at once.
Communications and attendance at programme pricing, funded with the ministries and development partners, once the private schools have proved it works.

Pilot to repeatable launch
MTN nominates 25 pilot schools. MoMo collection rails connect, registers and staff files migrate, every office trains on its own phones.
Fees, registers, marks, payroll and safeguarding flow school by school. Parents join at the gate. MTN receives a weekly scorecard.
Collections, arrears recovered, attendance and staff adoption reviewed against the gates. Pricing locks from pilot data. Wave 2 of 250 schools is planned.

The ask
A school signs once and stays for a decade. The engine is already live with MTN Cameroon's business customers, so the build is behind us and the pilot can start this term.
